About Us
Karen was born into the Turner family as the fourth of six happy children. She was a very serious and creative child that loved to sing, dance, write stories, and travel with her siblings.
In 2001, Karen graduated from Cape Fear Community Colleges’ Office Systems Technology program as one of the top students in her class. Soon after, Ms. Doniere enrolled and graduated from Shaw University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition, Ms. Doniere began working full-time at the Pender county campus of Cape Fear Community College. While serving in this capacity, she began teaching online courses within the Office Systems Technology program. It was during this online course that she realized her love for teaching. Nearly four years later, Karen transferred to the CFCC Wilmington campus bookstore where she remained for four years. In this capacity, Karen enjoyed assisting students, staff, and faculty with their bookstore needs, maintaining the website, and processing online orders. Karen later reasoned that there was a segment of the population that the higher learning institutes were missing. Thus, on May 2005 1 On 1 Computer Consulting was born. In 2006, Ms. Doniere began teaching an Introductory Computer course for the Continuing Education department. Then in 2007, she began teaching for the Business Technologies department of Cape Fear Community College, where she is currently teaching.
Throughout this strenuous journey, Karen has found and fulfilled her love of teaching those within the business and residential arena, to learn how to efficiently operate their computer. Presently, Ms. Doniere is married with three children, a hamster, and a dog.
